Snacks. At home, you always need snacks sitting around. My husband is a Muncher and our 16-year-old grandson is staying with us during the school year. Need I say more? We always have good snacks candy in the house at night, watch TV, after school is, etc. Snack foods also make big party and hostess gifts. They are also good for meetings, field office-ins, church socials, block parties, etc. Choose from our recipes for Pecans honey orange or peanut-Cheerios Sleeps any previous occasions. These recipes are sure to cure snacks.
No honey Bake-MANI-Cheerios PLACES
1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter
6 cup of regular Cheerios
1 cup honey
1 cup peanuts
Butter 9 x 13-inch and side.
In a large saucepan bring sugar and honey to a boil, but do not boil. Remove from heat. Stir in peanut butter, peanuts and cereals. Press mixture into the prepared pan. Cut into squares.
ORANGE FLAVORED PECANS sugar
1 1 / 2 cups sugar
1 orange / 2 cup juice
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons corn syrup light
1 / 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 / 4 teaspoon ground cloves
4 cups walnut halves
In a 2-quart saucepan, combine sugar, orange juice, butter, corn syrup, cinnamon and cloves. Cook the mixture Degrees over medium heat, stirring constantly, to 240 on a candy thermometer. Stir in walnuts. Pour into a greased baking sheet that has sides, spread a layer thin. Cool completely then break into separate nuts.
