I have a medical question. My grandmother died less thn a month ago ...?
At first he had pneumonia. Then he got up liquid in the lungs, the doctor mentioned a pleural effusion. that drains out and gave him antibiotics. Then he anemic, and received a transfusion of a few. and then had trouble breathing. He put an oxygen mask and all, but soon died. I was not there, and my mother described it. She was in her early 70s and was in Somalia at the time. We are trying to find out what ultimately died of .. please give us ur opinion if you have a clue!
The condition of pneumonia causing an accumulation of fluid in the lungs. This makes the reduced ability of blood to carry oxygen to the body and reduce the ability of the lungs to expand and fill with adequate air (which makes breathing difficult). The fact that her grandmother developed anemia and extra oxygen does not really seem to help may have been simply due to the fact that their system was compromised by age and any pre-existing disease or may have had earlier.
